About Goldstraw Goldsmiths - Est. 1981
Goldstraws is a family run business established in 1981 by Paul Goldstraw, then aged 21. Paul left school in 1976 at 16 and become apprentice to Robert (Bob) Wallace, a Hatton Garden craftsman and very talented Goldsmith. During Paul's 5 year apprenticeship at Quayside Jewellers he made all types of jewellery from simple cut out pendants to bespoke tiaras and cocktail rings. He works in platinum, gold and silver.
Paul originally occupied Barretts of St Neots as a concession which gave him a permanent flow of customers. The business grew and in 1997, Paul moved to his own retail unit within Cross Keys Mews.
It was in 2007 that Paul's youngest daughter Connie came into the fold. The support of Connie now enables Paul to focus on what he loves doing best, creating.
Connie joined the family business with 5 years business management to offer and now manages Goldstraw Goldsmiths and also offers an in house Insurance Valuations service.
In 2016, Goldstraw Goldsmiths moved from its home in Cross Keys Mews to it's current premises at 14 High Street, St Neots. Connie commented "This exciting move marked the next chapter for Goldstraw Goldsmiths and we have great plans for the look and feel of the new shop. With a more prominent position in the town centre we were excited about the prospect of opening our doors to many more people as well as bringing more new stock and services to our valued customers."
All of us at Goldstraws have a detailed understanding of jewellery and repair so come and speak to one of the team, there is nothing we can't do when it comes to jewellery!
